2008 Civic Awards at the City of Pickering
The City of Pickering celebrated and honored the community on May 26th at the annual Civic Awards. The awards were held in Council Chambers at Pickering City Hall. Mayor Ryan and council members acknowledged each individual and organization for contributions made during 2008. The awards, a 2008 medal, pin and certificate were given to recipients for their leadership, volunteerism, sport and arts achievements as well as contributions in business, the environment, culture, urban design, accessibility and sustainability. Among those recipients were Pickering's PORT Restaurant, The Rotary Clubs of Ajax and Pickering, the Pickering Soccer Club and Community of Faiths against AIDS in Africa.
