Open Gaming Night
The Pickering Central Library is a great place for kids to hang out. The number of diverse programs available to kids of all ages at the library is incredible. On this particular Friday night in January, SNAP dropped by the Open Gaming Night held 2 Fridays per month in the upstairs auditorium of the library. There were a number of kids playing video games, card games, chess and board games. Some came with a friend and many met new people over the course of evening. I had an opportunity to chat with Librarian Randy, who tells me that next month the dates will be February 12th and 26th from 5:00pm to 8:30pm. On the 12th, kids will enjoy an Olympic themed evening and are encouraged to bring out their own board games. For more information, feel free to give the library a call at 905-831-6265.
