Whitevale Spring Festival
The weather was absolutely spectacular for the Whitevale Spring Festival last month. Tricia McCallum, one of the many volunteer event organizers and her Witches of Whitevale greeted me on the other side of the river where they were holding their gargantuan garage sale for the Canadian Cancer Society, which brought in over $1400 by the end of the day. Whitevale's Relay for Life team, The Witches of Whitevale were gearing up for the relay at the end of the month. Activities at the festival included a high tea in a tranquil garden, face painting, petting zoo area, music, plant, book and bake sales, a beer tent, barbecue and so much more. All this fun in one of the most picturesque towns in Pickering. If you missed it this year, be sure to join in the fun next year!
