Congress of Black Women of Canada Scholarship Brunch
The Ajax/Pickering chapter of the Congress of Black Women hosted their 12th Annual Scholarship Brunch on May 30th. The Congress gave out bursaries in the amount of $500.00 to four lucky women at the Pickering Recreation Complex. All recipients have planned to pursue post secondary studies in the fall. The Ontario Region of the Congress of Black Women of Canada is a regional body with a number of local chapters linked to the National Congress of Black Women of Canada. It provides leadership and direction to create and maintain links among the Ontario Chapters of the Congress of Black Women in their missions to address the social, economic and cultural issues and needs of black women.
