Team Canada before the bike ride

BIG Bike

On May 27th, twelve corporate teams from across Pickering gathered to help support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada. The City of Pickering, Wal-mart, Curves, Ontario Power Generation, East Side Mario's, Investors Group and Sears were some of the teams riding a 29 seat bicycle to help fund raise for the charity. This is an annual tradition and this year, The Heart and Stroke Foundation estimated a total donation count at almost 30,000 dollars. Awards were handed out to two key fundraisers and organizers of the event. Bev Lizzotte and Mary Ellen Ride, team members of OPG, were awarded for their continuous efforts and support to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
